Our procedure for refurbishing a swimming pool…

When we refurbish an existing swiming pool, all pipe work will be renewed, along with installing new pumps, filters plus a new heater to guarantee full efficiency and a leak free system.

All walls and floors are fully inspected before making good of any defects, ie. cracks, holes and weak points etc.

We would always recommend installing a new concrete floor when replacing swimming pool drainage, since there is a risk of excess damage to old, existing floors when installing and replacing drainage parts that are integral to the pool floor.

Where existing swimming pool walls are thinner than 200mm, we would excavate all outer walls to the swimming pool floor depth, then refill with concrete.

Further steps would be carried to the fresh concreted walls, in preparation for a fibreglass finish. Adding a very strong and durable fibreglass coat would ensure the swimming pool would not need re-painting for at least 15 years.

The fibreglass finish can be supplied in a vast range of colours, the most common being a standard blue pool colour.

We would never carry out or recommend retiling a swimming pool as this opens up the risk of leaks from event of even the slightest pin hole or crack and would quickly destroy the wall structure, resulting in the wall having to be replaced.

Should you wish to have a traditional mosaic installed, there are a number of designs to choose from. Mosaic’s would be laid over a fibreglass foundation, giving it added strength and would further guarantee it from any movement or leaks.
